Position Title: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Clinical Lab Assistant (Part-time, Temporary) Evening Hours

Position Summary: The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Clinical Lab Assistant supports the instructors of the EMS program at Washburn University Institute of Technology (WIT) by assisting with exams and evaluating student performance in the lab setting.
Work hours are scheduled as needed, with availability Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday from 5:30p to 9:30p.

Essential Functions:
• Assist with instruction of scheduled EMR and EMT lab time, including training, evaluation, and check offs for practical skills, protocols, and exam process including administration and proctoring of exams.
• Maintain a positive learning environment
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships and constructive interactions with colleagues both in the program and across the institution, and cooperating agencies and community groups.
• Adhere to established institutional and departmental policies and procedures and relevant quality and safety standards.
• Assist in the teaching of practical learning experiences with the occasional request to teach didactic.
• Direct, guide, and evaluate student performance in a laboratory setting.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Two years of experience as an EMT or military experience equivalent to two years of experience as an EMT.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• EMT Certification
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record under Washburn's standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
