Position Summary: The Campus Visit Experience Specialist contributes to undergraduate new student recruitment at Washburn by supporting the campus visit experience including personalized campus visits, group visits and recruitment events. This position serves as the Campus Visit Experience Specialist at Washburn Tech while also providing support to the University campus as needed.
Essential Functions:
Serve within Undergraduate Recruitment & Admissions as a primary support person for the Assistant Director, Campus Visit Experience.
Serve as the primary visit experience guide for all VIP visitors and their families/guests.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all Undergraduate Recruitment & Admissions campus visitors.
Support the planning and execution of all undergraduate new student recruitment events.
Plan, schedule, and execute all personalized campus visits for prospective students and their parents/guests.
Meet with prospective students and their parents/guests with the focus of effectively recruiting the students to choose and attend Washburn.
Support the Student Ambassador program by assisting in the hiring and training of student ambassadors to ensure their effective contribution to new student recruitment through an informative, fun and engaging visit experience.
Serve as a point of contact for the Washburn community in the collaborative planning, scheduling and execution of undergraduate recruitment events, group visits and personalized campus visits.
Serve as a point of contact for high school, community college and community personnel to collaboratively bring prospective students for a campus visit experience.
Support the execution of all communications regarding the campus visit experience, ensuring timely and informative communications are sent to visitors regarding their campus visit experiences.
Support the timely and accurate marketing and promotion of and communication for new student recruitment campus visit events.
Collect and enter data from all aspects of the campus visit experience.
Participate in unit and department meetings, training opportunities and other appropriate professional development.
Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or degree completion by the end of the semester of hire).
- Experience with event planning and/or providing administrative support.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a team construct.
- Demonstratable ability and commitment to build effective professional relationships with a variety of people, including those from under-represented and diverse populations.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions while adhering to deadlines.
- Ability to effectively operate Windows operating software and Microsoft Office products.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable by university standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle and maneuver equipment/objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to drive golf cart-type of vehicle around campus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (preferably Spanish).
Full time Hourly Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, Background Check and Driving History Required
