Position Summary: Washburn Institute of Technology seeks applications for Adjunct Instructor in the Certified Nurse Aide program. This is a part-time non-benefit eligible position.

Essential Functions:
The Adjunct Instructor position consists of four essential functions: teaching, service, collegiality, and professional development.
• Work closely with the C.N.A. class instructor regarding clinical rotations and skill lab check-offs.
• Prepare for and attend all designated clinical sessions.
• Develop assignments for the classroom and lab/shop if applicable and attend all class meetings.
• Enforce policies for safety and the use of personal protective equipment for all individuals in the lab/shop environment.
• Maintain student records about the program (i.e., certification testing and the assessment plan); administer tests.
• Evaluate student work, provide feedback to students, and assign grades. Share (as appropriate) information with the Student Services and Dean's offices; and use the University's Learning Management System to track grades as required.
• Evaluate each course one teaches and assess personal performance in teaching.
• Foster a positive relationship with industry and the community.
• Act in a manner that promotes collegial relationships and shows respect toward students, staff, and colleagues.
• Maintain and advance training in industry-recognized certifications.
• Adhere to college and University policies and perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
· Two years of verifiable full-time experience in clinical practice as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
· An unencumbered Kansas nursing license.
· A minimum of 1750 hours of long-term care experience as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
· An instructor number for CNA/CMA courses or the ability to gain approval as a CNA/CMA instructor per criteria established through the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing with long-term care experience.
· Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
· Approved HHA instructor number from KDADS.
