Position Summary:  The School of Nursing (SON) Student Services Advisor provides professional-level service to the Washburn University Harmony J. Hines School of Nursing faculty, staff, and students. Primarily assists the Director, Nursing Undergraduate Student Services, with advising and data maintenance. Ensures professional interaction with prospective students and families through campus visits, recruiting events, and email and phone communication. This is a part-time position, working 20 hours a week, and is eligible for part-time benefits. Schedule is negotiable.

Essential Functions:
• Assists Director, Nursing Undergraduate Student Services with advising pre-nursing and nursing students. This includes, but is not limited to, individual student meetings for degree and course planning and registration.
• Assists with data collection and management of student information for reporting purposes.
• Aids in maintaining SON databases and student files.
• Acts as a liaison to other university offices and officials to address and resolve student issues (e.g., Registrar, Enrollment Management, Financial Aid).
• Meets with prospective students and families to provide program overview and tour of nursing school.
• Represents the SON at internal and external events as needed.
• Supports the day-to-day responsibilities of the SON administration.
• Assists with general SON inquiries via phone, email, and walk-in appointments.
• Assists with organization and preparation of office spaces for testing accommodations.
• Works in conjunction with the administrative team on successful preparation and completion of SON events (e.g., Light the Lamp, On-Campus Experience, New Student Orientation, Graduation).
• Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience working in higher education student personnel or working directly with post-secondary students to promote student success.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to meet project timelines and handle a variety of assignments efficiently and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
• Experience utilizing a broad range of technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree and previous experience in higher education.
• Experience with student admissions, advising, and/or support.
• Experience with higher education student management products such as EAB Navigate, Ellucian Banner, etc.
