Position Summary:
Washburn University's School of Applied Studies invites applications for a Program Director and Lecturer, in the Technology Administration program to begin August 1, 2026 or as negotiated. This is a 9 month, non-tenure track position.

The Technology Administration program focuses on the application of technology in administration, economics, leadership, safety, management, production and service. It relies on faculty who have real world experience to help students gain the necessary theoretical, practical, and critical thinking skills to be successful in careers in technology resources management, project management and operations management. The program is designed for students with an applied associate degree background to gain the additional skills needed to work as a team leader, supervisor or manager within their technical discipline. The Technology Administration Program develops managers, team leaders, supervisors and other professionals who understand technology; its impact on humanity; and use tools, techniques, and systems to enhance their effectiveness in a global, competitive environment. The program is delivered fully online and courses are delivered asynchronously to support adult learners balancing work and family responsibilities.

Essential Functions:
• Administration of the Technology Administration program including curriculum development and revision; student recruitment and retention initiatives; and maintaining industry partnerships.
• Fulfill teaching expectations associated with non-tenure-track appointment. Teach 12-hours per semester (either in-person or online, according to departmental needs) or equivalent full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
• Courses may include project management, technology administration as it relates to social and environmental impact, corporate policy development, administration, emerging technologies and quality assurance or some combination of classes consistent with the candidate’s background and interests.
• Fulfill service expectations associated with a non-tenure-track appointment by engaging in service activities in the department, school, university, and profession.
• Provide academic advising to students, hold on-campus office hours at least 3 days per week in
accordance with departmental policies, attend meetings.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
• Reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Applied Studies.
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in a related discipline.
• Management or administrative experience in business or service industries.
• Experience teaching or training adult learner.
• Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners.
• Official educational transcripts required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
• College/ Post-secondary teaching experience.
• Online teaching or training experience.
• Experience with career & technical education.
• Experience collaborating with industry partners or advisory boards.
