Position Summary: The Director, of Nursing Graduate Student Services, provides professional-level support for the successful lifecycle of the graduate student and works closely with the graduate program directors and administrative staff to develop and maintain a workflow for student success. Leads and participates in the analysis of assessment data for retention and student success.
Essential Functions:
Assists students with admission, tuition, enrollment, financial aid status, scholarships, and program progression using selected software (e.g. Banner systems including TSAAREV, ROARMAN, SHACRSE, DegreeWorks, or Campus Guide).
Assists in recruitment and community events as appropriate.
Manages the contracting process in the School of Nursing.
Collects and manages student-related data to support program progression and completion.
Assists faculty with data management for the School of Nursing reporting requirements.
Assists the Dean in tasks associated with program maintenance.
Coordinates and supports the successful completion of graduate nursing events (e.g. Commencement, SON Recognition, DNP defenses, On Campus Experience).
Provides oversight for documentation required for ongoing accreditation purposes and assists with the completion of certification paperwork for graduates.
Acts as a liaison to other university offices and officials to address and resolve student issues.
Assists in the management of scholarship budget and works with Washburn University Foundation in processing and awarding funds.
Manages and reviews health clearance software to assure graduate students remain compliant with the School of Nursing policy and state board requirements.
Coordinates with faculty and clinical agencies to verify graduate student health clearance and compliance.
Organizes in collaboration with clinical faculty, external organizations, and university legal counsel to successfully establish affiliation agreements.
Collects and maintains clinical affiliation agreements information with healthcare organizations for all School of Nursing student clinical experiences.
Delivers support to faculty and students for course offerings as appropriate.
Supports the day-to-day responsibilities of the School of Nursing administration.
Assists with development of the SON newsletter and social media.
Records minutes for key graduate committees.
Represents the School of Nursing and the University on various committees as assigned by the Dean.
Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree and three years of experience in student advising, recruitment and/or postsecondary admissions.
Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive public relations for the University, and ability to communicate with diverse groups within the University and the community.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and use independent judgment and discretion.
Proficient in completing multiple complex tasks and effective organizational skills.
Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fours years’ work experience in student advising, recruitment and/or postsecondary admissions.
Experience using Banner systems, CollegeNet.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Full time, Exempt, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
