Advertised Pay: Base pay is $67,997, with the potential for a higher rate commensurate with experience

The Director, Administration and Compliance, School of Law (SOL) will work with SOL leadership and administrative staff to review, establish, update, and implement policies and procedures for the SOL. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating current operations, trends in legal education, and University strategic plans to develop operational plans and strategies to support SOL goals. In addition, the position will effectively supervise assigned staff to maximize employee performance and facilitate professional growth.

Essential Functions:
• Effectively supervises administrative support staff to maximize employee performance and facilitate professional growth. Maintains a healthy, fair, and inclusive work environment by promoting diversity, teamwork, and collaboration. Actively promotes a professional workplace culture of mutual respect and collegiality for all institution members.
• Recommends candidates for hire, discipline, and other personnel-related actions for staff to address and resolve issues.
• Works with Human Resources and SOL staff to write and update position descriptions and to recruit to fill vacancies. Coordinates screening committee activities, scheduling meetings, providing materials, and liaising with Human Resources to support committees and ensure compliance with University policy, regulations and procedures, and EEO statutes and regulations.
• Assists with onboarding of new faculty and staff through coordination of offices and facilities, equipment, supplies, and training for new staff.
• Oversees compliance with American Bar Association (ABA) standards and American Association of American Law Schools' membership rules.
• Oversees preparation of the ABA annual and site evaluation questionnaires; responds to US News and other surveys and questionnaires, providing data, compiling documentation, and formatting responses and reports as needed to reflect the SOL in the most positive, professional manner possible.
• Works with Legal and Purchasing on contracts with vendors, visiting faculty, and other organizations, and consults with other University departments as necessary. Drafts, prepares, and submits contracts for approval and signature.
• Serves as the SOL building manager which includes identifying, planning for, and ordering needed maintenance, repair, renovations, improvements, construction, and space management.
• Oversees preparations for special SOL events to ensure their effective coordination and the success of each event.
• Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum three years of experience supervising administrative functions.
• Previous experience with compliance.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and develop professional relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, act ethically, and adapt effectively to change.
• Proven effective problem-solving, organizational abilities, and follow-up skills.
• Proven ability to effectively meet deadlines and lead compliance reviews.
• Demonstrated effective project management and supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Five years of experience supervising administrative functions.
• Three years of experience with compliance.
• Experience working in higher education.

Full-time, Exempt, Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm
