Position Summary:

Washburn University’s Gregory D. and Ronda K. Brenneman School of Business in Topeka, Kansas, invites applications for an assistant professor of business data analytics for a tenure-track appointment effective Fall 2026. Applicants specializing in any area of Data Science are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Brenneman School of Business serves more than 600 BBA, MBA, and MAcc students through its AACSB-accredited programs. In January 2027, the school will move into a newly renovated academic building, the $43 million Advisors Excel Hall.

The standard School teaching load for tenure-track faculty is three courses per semester. Summer teaching and research support is available. The School provides robust professional development and research support, including financial databases, software, and generous travel funding.

Topeka, the State Capital of Kansas, is home to a vibrant private sector and operations of several Fortune 500 companies, including Goodyear, Walmart, Home Depot, Target, Frito Lay, BNSF Railway and Colgate-Palmolive. It also has a growing insurance and Fintech sector with companies such as Advisors Excel, Security Benefit, BCBS of Kansas, banking and insurance firms, and a dozen small to medium-sized accounting firms. Essential Functions:
• Teaching a variety of data analytics and quantitative methods-related courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Commitment to scholarly and service activities commensurate with AACSB accreditation and school and University expectations.
• Additional appropriate job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Business Analytics, Management Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited business school. Candidates in the final stages of completing their doctoral work will be considered and must complete their Ph.D. before the end of their first year of employment.
• Evidence of academic and professional qualifications consistent with AACSB accreditation requirements.
• Experience teaching courses in business analytics and quantitative methods and related areas at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners.
• Official educational transcripts are required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with program development and executive education
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, SQL, Python, SPSS and other business analytics tools
