Position Summary: Washburn University's Computer Information Sciences Department invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Computer Information Sciences to begin August 2025. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position. This hire is contingent based on funding.

Essential Functions:
• Fulfill teaching expectations associated with a tenure-track appointment. Teach 12-hours per semester (either in-person or online, according to departmental needs) or equivalent full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
• Teach and develop undergraduate classes and seminars as assigned and as dependent upon department needs.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Fulfill service expectations associated with a tenure-track appointment by engaging in service activities in the department, college, university, and profession.
• Fulfill scholarship expectations associated with a tenure-track appointment.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctorate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a computing-related field. ABD candidates will also be considered with the completion of a doctorate by May 2026.
• Graduate training consistent with teaching computer science courses at the undergraduate level.
• Demonstrated dedication to developing teaching practices that engage students from all backgrounds.
• Official educational transcripts are required at the time of hire.
