Position Summary:
The KTWU KAB intern will assist in all areas of production, including field and studio production (running camera, audio, teleprompter, lighting, set design) and post production; video promotions for shows, fundraising, social media and station image campaigns; and securing interviews for KTWU local studio productions (IGI, Working Capital and Inspire). The intern will expand their knowledge of shot composition, graphic composition, editing, audio recording, and other various skills required to create programming for broadcast television.
The intern will also support the production and marketing teams in managing and optimizing KTWU's YouTube presence. The intern will assist with video uploads, metadata optimization, analytics tracking, and ensuring compliance with KTWU's branding and copyright.

Essential Functions:
-Assist ongoing productions with studio camera, audio, graphics, teleprompter for KTWU productions.
-Assist on field shoots for productions.
-Edit promo videos for the promotion or membership department. The intern will follow a script and edit video, add VO, music and graphics to create finished promotional pieces for a KTWU event or membership drive.
-Assist with taking photos, shooting videos and creating unique posts for KTWU's social media platforms.
-Assist with other production projects as needed.
-Prepare and upload video content to KTWU's YouTube channel.
-Format and optimize titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails according to best practices.
-Implement SEO strategies to increase video visibility and audience engagement.
Required Qualifications:
-Must be available to work at least 10-15 hours per week.
-Must be a sophomore at a Kansas university or community college in a degree program related to digital media, broadcasting, film journalism, or related field.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
-Skilled in critical thinking, time management, effective communication.
-Flexibility to adjust to actions in relation to others' actions.
-Good judgment and decision making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge or familiarity with videography and photography and audio recording. Experience with YouTube Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere, After-affects and Photoshop and other media applications.
